Monday -Friday Appointments Call 919-928-1146 to schedule your appointment. We ask that you please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment. In turn, we promise to do our best to see you on time. Medication Refills When medications are due for a refill this usually indicates it is time for a follow-up appointment. If you have recently been seen by your physician, but forgot to get refills for your medication, please call your pharmacy and have them fax us a refill request. Allow 24-48 hours for authorization. We do not refill narcotics or other controlled medications after hours. Insurance Avalon Medical Group accepts most health plans. If we are not currently on your plan, we are often able to enroll. Please call our office if you have questions about insurance or billing. Hospitalization If hospital care is needed, our patients are cared for by the Departments of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine at UNC Hospitals, or the Department of Family Medicine at Durham Regional Hospital or Duke University Medical Center. Obstetrical (Maternity) Care Dr. Vines will provide prenatal care to their patients. Delivery is done at UNC Women’s Hospital by the Department of Family Medicine, or at Durham Regional Hospital by Dr. Vines. Newborn Care Dr. Vines will care for newborns at Durham Regional Hospital. Infants and Children Medical care for infants and children is provided at Avalon. This includes periodic regular exams and immunizations (shots), as well as sick visits.
